- Actively pursuing a degree or skilled trade
- Household income below $50,000
Samuels Soar Scholarship
$1,500 Award
Honors dedication, academic excellence, and a strong commitment to serving others.
- Completed 60+ volunteer hours (registered nonprofit)
- Minimum 3.5 GPA
- Enrolled at an accredited college, university, or trade school
- Actively pursuing a degree or skilled trade
- Household income below $50,000
Telfer Scholarship
$2,000 Award
Our highest distinction, awarded to students who combine academic excellence, leadership, and service.
- Completed 80+ volunteer hours (registered nonprofit)
- Minimum 3.8 GPA
- Enrolled at an accredited college, university, or trade school
- Actively pursuing a degree or skilled trade
- Demonstrated leadership in school or community
- Household income below $50,000
How It Works

Applications are reviewed to confirm eligibility requirements are met.
3. Award
Qualified applicants are entered into a lottery, and recipients are selected fairly and at random.
Scholarship funds are paid directly to the recipient’s accredited college, university, or trade school.

How are recipients selected?
All complete and eligible applications are entered into a lottery-based selection process to ensure fairness and equal opportunity. Academic achievement, service, and leadership requirements must be met prior to entry.
Can trade school students apply?
Yes. Enrollment in an accredited university, college, or trade program qualifies, as long as you meet the other eligibility criteria.
How are scholarship funds distributed?
Scholarship funds are paid directly to the student’s school or training institution and may be applied toward tuition, fees, or eligible educational expenses.
When will I hear back after applying?
After submitting your application, you’ll receive an email outlining next steps. All applicants receive notification regarding the status of their application.
What happens if my application is incomplete?
Incomplete applications may not be considered. Applicants receive confirmation and next steps by email after submission.
